4.52 pm : Coroner’s court adjourns & resumes tomorrow.
4.50 pm : Mohd Anuar says Teoh called a Mr Ashraf at 5am while another officer Raymond Nion said at 6am Teoh was asleep on the office sofa.
4.45 pm : Mohd Anuar says Teoh couldn’t answer questions during interrogation at 1am July 16 regarding information from laptop.
4.38 pm : Mohd Anuar tells court Teoh was main witness in MACC investigations & not a suspect.
4.35 pm : Tan shows Mohd Anuar a book which he identifies as diary for MACC officers to make mileage & overtime claims.
04:30pm: To a question from Tan, Mohd Annuar said that, to his knowledge, there was no violence or threat used against Teoh during the interrogation.
4.28 pm : Replying to Tan, Mohd Anuar admits he is a smoker but didn’t go to Level 14 window in MACC office where others smoke that day.
4.25 pm : Mohd Anuar says recognised Teoh from inside Level 5 office window, adding Teoh was wearing same jacket & white pants previous day.
4.17 pm : Mohd Anuar tells court he did not go home from July 16 to July 18.
4.15 pm : Mohd Anuar punched in for work at 8.22am on July 15 but did not punch out time-card.
4.05 pm : Mohd Anuar says slept in surau till 5am, then at main visitors’ room until 8.30am on July 16 when Teoh was found dead.
04:00pm: Mohd Annuar tells court that about 9am on July 16, he saw a bag belonging to Teoh next to a sofa near fellow MACC officer Mohd Nadzri’s room. Mohd Nadzri had recorded Teoh’s statement about 2am on July 16.
3.15 pm : MACC I/O Mohd Anuar Ismail takes the witness stand. Teoh’s mum holds up photo portrait in officer’s direction.
3.12 pm : Coroner says court will keep letter but won’t mark it as case exhibit.
3.05 pm : Tan notes letter was unsigned & contains matters not related to inquest, says not to mark it but leave in court to mark later.
3.03 pm : Gobind says its a serious matter, letter shouldn’t be withdrawn & needs to be investigated as a case exhibit.
03:00pm: Gobind Singh argued that the explanations on the findings of the investigations on the letter should have been done by investigating officer and not Tan.
3.02 pm : Abdul Razak asks letter to be withdrawn & to cross examine witnesses later.
02.59 pm : Abdul Razak tells coroner’s court not to be influenced by mystery letter.
02.58 pm : MACC legal director Abdul Razak Musa says mystery letter shouldn’t be in court, cannot rely on ’surat layang’, only witnesses.
02.57 pm : Coroner says not to make any conclusions yet as not all witnesses have testified.
02.56 pm : Gobind says explanation should come from I/O, not Bar Council. “We have a right to ask,” he says.
02.55 pm : Police discover Selangor MACC deputy director did not punch out his time-card the day Teoh was found dead.
02:50pm: Tan Hock Chuan tells Coroner that police had carried out investigation on the poison pen letter implicating certain people in the death of Teoh. Tan said the police did not find any statements supporting the allegations mentioned in the letter.
02.45 pm : Police tell court they have not found proof of allegations that Selangor MACC deputy director gave orders to subordinates.
02.25 pm : All parties including Teoh’s parents & former DAP SG Kerk Kim Hock in courtroom except forTeoh family lawyer Gobind Singh Deo.
02.05 pm : Mystery letter did not say how Teoh Beng Hock died, which inquest is investigating after he was found dead July 16 at MACC office.
02.03 pm : Mystery letter alluded to top Selangor MACC official linked with Umno politician to unseat Pakatan Rakyat state government.
02.00 pm : Coroner’s court resumes today after ordering police to investigate contents of mystery letter alleging corruption in MACC.
The Coroner’
s Court meets Monday afternoon to continue the inquest into the death of Teoh Beng Hock.
On July 15, Teoh was taken in for questioning by the MACC as a witness in its investigation into the alleged abuse of constituency funds by certain elected representatives in the state.
Teoh, 30, was the political secretary of state executive councillor Ean Yong Hian Wah.
Teoh’
s body was found the next day on the fifth floor of the Plaza Masalam building the next day. The MACC has its office on the 14th floor of the building.
The Cabinet agreed to the inquest into the death after a public outcry.
